This is among the most remote inhabited islands on the planet. Rapa Nui, a once vibrant utopian island culture, settled 1000 years ago, with remarkable art and ritual; and then collapse. The show examines the beginning and the end of the Eastern Islanders, through a series of cautionary tales and colorful spectacle. Today, due to rising oceans and coastal erosion, this rare gem and 1,100 moai statue are at risk of disappearing from sight for all time.
