The EuroLeague is the top-tier European professional basketball club competition since 2000. The competition replaced the FIBA EuroLeague (which was previously called the FIBA European Champions Cup, or simply the European Cup), which had been run by FIBA since 1958. Starting from 2010/2011 season the tournament is named Turkish Airlines Euroleague, due to a sponsorship contract of Turkish Airlines with EuroLeague, and in 2013 the contract was prolonged to 2020. The tournament is aired in 199 countries of the world. The current EuroLeague structure is made up of 16 teams, which each play each other twice, once at home and once away, in a double round robin league regular season, each team plays 30 games. The top 8 placed teams at the end of the regular season advance to playoffs, each plays a 5 game playoff series against a single opponent. The winners of each playoff series advance to the Final Four held in a predetermined city for two days. The Final Four features two semifinals, a third place game, and the championship game, all on the same weekend.
