Bill and Ted are not too bright high school students who dream of becoming rock stars. Their biggest problem is an upcoming history report that could separate them, because if they fail Ted's father will send him away to military school. Luckily, a man from the future in which the two boys will be known as the Two Great Ones, comes to help them because he knows they must stay together. Using his time machine the two boys manage to meet great historical figures from the past, including Napoleon, Joan of Arc and Abraham Lincoln, which helps them research for the report.
