A television documentary series which tells the full story of the origins, development and downfall of the famous Roman Empire between the 2nd century BC to the era of the last Western Roman emperor in the 5th century AD. The Romans are regarded as one of the most revolutionary Empires in the entire course of history and a substantial amount of theories, principles and engineering techniques they experimented with are still applied to this day. This thirteen-part series explores the Germanic, Britannic and other barbarian tribal wars which ultimately led to the fall of the Roman Empire.
