Historical drama based on true events. In the summer of 1967, the US is startled by countless race riots. One of the worst riots takes place in Detroit. On July 23, police raided an illegal nightclub and arrested more than 80 people, all African Americans. While waiting for transport, a crowd gathers outside. The situation escalates and the National Guard and paratroopers are called in to restore order. 43 people are killed, nearly 1,200 others are injured and more than 7,200 arrested.
