Music Icons - (S02, E03, music film, England, 2014) During the recording of Dire Straits' third album, Making Movies, David Knopfler suddenly left the band, bringing a permanent end to the brothers' partnership within the group. As the 80s began, the band made use of the rise of music television to promote making movies and their subsequent output. Dire Straits finally dissolved in 1995, after Mark decided he wanted to focus on his solo career with no plans to re-form the band.
