The week is full of surprises in central Michigan. Unplanned pregnancies, long labors, mystery symptoms and power outages-the vets at Pol Veterinary Services have their hands full! In the parking lot, Dr. Pol is taking a look at Andrea Tait's goat, Appy. Appy is just one year old; owner Andrea is unsure of how the male goat managed to impregnate Appy. Now Andrea has come to Dr. Pol for an exam and advice, concerned over the implications this pregnancy could have. Across town, Dr. Emily is investigating a horse with a swollen knee. After confirming that the horse's vitals are in good shape, she then notices an odd build up of fluid around its stomach. Will she be able to identify a cause and cure for this mystery? Over at Todd Bean's, Dr. Brenda is assisting a heifer that's been in labor all night. With a calf puller in place, will Dr. Brenda be able to save the calf in time? Back at the clinic, the staff is dealing with a power outage. While it's raining cats and dogs outside, the cats and dogs inside need help-even without lights and computers. With a little help from Dr. Pol and a lot of hard work from the staff, business carries on at PVS; even the most unexpected of events won't stop this determined team!
